About This Policy

AzAd BrowserKit is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data handling practices, what information we collect (and what we don't), how we protect it, and your rights.

TL;DR: We don't collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything happens locally on your computer.

๐Ÿ“Š What Data We Collect

Short Answer: None.

AzAd BrowserKit does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. We don't have accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no external communication about your activity.

What This Means:

๐Ÿ—„๏ธ Local Storage & Settings

The only data stored is your extension settings, stored locally on your computer using Chrome's storage API.

What Settings Are Stored Locally:

Important: These settings are stored locally on your device. If you're signed into Chrome, settings may sync across your devices using Chrome's built-in sync, but this is managed entirely by Google and encrypted by Chrome. We have no access to synced data.

๐Ÿ” Permissions Explanation

AzAd BrowserKit requests specific permissions to function. Here's why each is needed:

Permission Why We Need It
activeTab To access the current tab you're viewing for tools like Color Picker and Font Inspector
scripting To inject features like Smart Links and Hover Zoom into webpages
storage To save your settings locally and persist them across sessions
contextMenus To add right-click context menu options for tools like Text Case Tools
clipboardWrite To copy colors, fonts, emails, and links to your clipboard when you click copy
notifications To show success notifications when you copy data or complete actions
<all_urls> To work on any website you visit. We don't monitor what sites; we just enable our tools everywhere

Important: None of these permissions are used to collect, transmit, or store any information about you or your activity. They're purely functional.

โš™๏ธ How Features Work Privately

Color Picker

When you pick a color, the extraction happens entirely in your browser. The color is instantly copied to your clipboard. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Font Inspector

Font data is extracted from the CSS of the page you're viewing. Analysis happens locally. No font data is stored or shared.

Link Collector

Links are extracted from the current page in your browser. Processing (removing tracking params, deduplication) happens locally. Export is to your computer only.

Email Extractor

Email addresses are found on the current page and displayed locally. Nothing is sent to us or any server.

Smart Links, Hover Zoom, Hover Zoom, Text Case Tools

All processing happens in your browser. No data collection, no tracking.

Password Reveal

Disabled by default for security. When enabled, it only works locally on your device. Passwords are never captured or stored.

๐ŸŒ Offline-First Architecture

AzAd BrowserKit works completely offline. All tools function without internet access. We don't rely on any external APIs, servers, or cloud services.

Your data is processed on your device, by your device, for your device.

๐Ÿšซ Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party services that collect or process your data:

๐Ÿ‘ค Your Control & Rights

You Can:

Right to Deletion:

Since we don't store any of your data on servers, uninstalling the extension removes all local settings. Settings are completely deletedโ€”not archived or sold.

Right to Access:

You can view all your settings in the extension's Options page at any time.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Security Practices

Code Security:

Input Sanitization:

All user inputs are validated and sanitized. We don't execute untrusted code.

No Remote Code Execution:

All code runs locally. No code is downloaded or executed from external sources.

Open Source Audit:

Since our code is publicly available, security researchers can review it and report issues.

๐Ÿ“‹ Data Breaches

Since we don't collect or store personal data on servers, there's nothing to breach. Your data remains on your device, which you control.

โš–๏ธ Privacy Compliance

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

AzAd BrowserKit complies with GDPR because we don't process personal data. We have no databases of users, no tracking, and no data transfers to third parties.

CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)

We comply with CCPA. We don't sell, rent, or share any consumer information because we don't collect it in the first place.

Chrome Web Store Standards

AzAd BrowserKit meets all Chrome Web Store requirements for security and privacy. We follow Manifest V3 best practices.

๐Ÿ“ Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Significant changes will be communicated through extension update notes.
